Farewell for now, dear readers (assuming I still have any). I'm neither blogging nor blogwatching during Lent, among other things.
If anyone wants to get hold of me feel free to email me at flambeaux_bearer@[NoSPAM]yahoo[DOT]com. I presume my readers can figure out how to make that work properly.
If anyone is still casting about for something to do during Lent (remember, it's not just a "Catholic" thing), I would urge you to read one of the following books:
A Father Who Keeps His Promises, by Dr. Scott Hahn
This book should be required reading for anyone interested in Christianity, whether Christian or not. Salvation history in a nutshell. Exceptionally good reading if you already know your Scripture. Fantastic reading if you don't.
Available here.
Also, assuming you're online this Lent, check out the rest of his website at www.salvationhistory.com
AND/OR
The Theology of the Body for Beginners, by Christopher West
Unless you want to wade through 600 pages of John Paul II's Theology of the Body AND 600 pages of Christopher West's Commentary volume Theology of the Body Explained, I suggest the condensed version. An undergrad in theology or philosophy is not a pre-requisite for this svelte text on what human sexuality means in God's plan.
Available here.
Have a safe and blessed Lent filled with prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
